The Oxford Choral Classic Octavos Series makes the best new editions of standard repertoire available to every choir at an attractive price. All items with orchestral accompaniments have playable piano accompaniments and clear, accurate scores and parts are available for hire.
for TTBB chorus, soprano, mezzo and baritone soloists, and piano or orchestra.
The soprano and mezzo solos are cued in the orchestral parts and so are optional. Full scores and instrumental parts are available on hire.
Duration: 5 minutes.
Again the presentation is clear . . . Background notes giving information about the operas and the scenes from which these extracts come and, where appropriate, useful directions are given in the score. In addition there is a singing translation in each piece. While Rutter allows himself some margin in the precision of the translation he does achieve a version that marries well with the melodic line and which gives a good overall sense of the scene.
